Wii Sports – Best Wii GamesWii Sports (return to list of the 10 best Wii games)

Wii Sports comes included free when you buy the Nintendo Wii console. It's truly brilliant and has 5 different sports games on the disc. These are tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and boxing.

In each of the 5 games, you'll use the Wii remote controller as an item of sports equipment. So in Wii Sports tennis, you'll hold the controller like a tennis racquet and swing it exactly like you would a real tennis racquet. You'll be hitting forehands, backhands, serves and volleys.

The main objective of Wii Sports (other than winning of course) is to learn how to use the Wii mote controller. Each of the 5 games uses the controller in a different way, and you'll learn very quickly how to move the controller around and manipulate it to perform actions on the screen.

Wii Sports is number 1 on the list of best Wii games because it's easy to play and absolutely defines the Wii. The minute you open your Wii console this game will make you fall in love with everything the Wii is about!

Mario Kart is a classic Nintendo game with millions of faithful fans around the world. Mario Kart Wii will satisfy both experienced Mario Kart players and newcomers alike, with brilliant game play that takes full advantage of the Wii mote controller.

During each race, you'll collect “weapons” to use against your opponents with the aim of slowing them down and knocking them off the track. These aren't traditional weapons like guns, but are fun weapons like thunder clouds and mega mushrooms. All of these are from Mario's famous Mushroom World.

With 32 different race tracks and 25 great characters to choose from you'll never complain that the game is repetitive. You can choose to drive cars, karts and motorbikes, and the game comes with a Wii Steering Wheel to boost the fun factor even more.

During races you'll be able to perform stunts every time you ramp into the air. Simply flick the remote control in different directions to perform stunts, and when you land you'll get a speed boost to zoom past opponents.

Mario Kart Wii also has great online play. Up to 12 people can race against each through the free WiiConnect24 online service.

Mario Kart Wii is easily one of the best Wii games around, and it's worth adding to your collection!

Super Mario GalaxySuper Mario Galaxy (return to list of topics)

Super Mario Galaxy is the radical Super Mario Bros adventure game for the noughties!

Help Mario rescue Princess Peach by traveling through the galaxy. Super Mario Galaxy has all the classic characters you'd expect in a Mario game.

Super Mario Galaxy is the same great formula that has made the Mario Brothers one of the best video games series for over 20 years.

Super Mario Galaxy also uses the Wii mote controller superbly. You'll have lots of opportunities to flick and twist the Wii mote during the game. Performing actions with the Wii mote like grabbing objects on the screen, riding a manta ray in the ocean, and blowing bubbles under water are done by pointing the controller at the screen and moving it in different directions.

Super Mario Galaxy is one of those games that shows off all of the Wii's great features. It has cool graphics, a classic Mario adventure story for the whole family, and is great fun to play with the Wii mote.
