Wii Sports (return to list of the 10 best Wii games)
Wii Sports comes included free when you buy the Nintendo Wii console. It's truly brilliant and has 5 different sports games on the disc. These are tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and boxing.
In each of the 5 games, you'll use the Wii remote controller as an item of sports equipment. So in Wii Sports tennis, you'll hold the controller like a tennis racquet and swing it exactly like you would a real tennis racquet. You'll be hitting forehands, backhands, serves and volleys.
The main objective of Wii Sports (other than winning of course) is to learn how to use the Wii mote controller. Each of the 5 games uses the controller in a different way, and you'll learn very quickly how to move the controller around and manipulate it to perform actions on the screen.
Wii Sports is number 1 on the list of best Wii games because it's easy to play and absolutely defines the Wii. The minute you open your Wii console this game will make you fall in love with everything the Wii is about!

Mario Kart Wii (return to list of topics)
Mario Kart is a classic Nintendo game with millions of faithful fans around the world. Mario Kart Wii will satisfy both experienced Mario Kart players and newcomers alike, with brilliant game play that takes full advantage of the Wii mote controller.
During each race, you'll collect “weapons” to use against your opponents with the aim of slowing them down and knocking them off the track. These aren't traditional weapons like guns, but are fun weapons like thunder clouds and mega mushrooms. All of these are from Mario's famous Mushroom World.
With 32 different race tracks and 25 great characters to choose from you'll never complain that the game is repetitive. You can choose to drive cars, karts and motorbikes, and the game comes with a Wii Steering Wheel to boost the fun factor even more.
During races you'll be able to perform stunts every time you ramp into the air. Simply flick the remote control in different directions to perform stunts, and when you land you'll get a speed boost to zoom past opponents.
Mario Kart Wii also has great online play. Up to 12 people can race against each through the free WiiConnect24 online service.
Mario Kart Wii is easily one of the best Wii games around, and it's worth adding to your collection!

You can choose to fight with Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic the Hedgehog or 32 other cool video game characters.

The Legend of Zelda series is another one of Nintendo's classic franchises with a long history of great games.

The hero of our story is a character named Link, and his side-kick Midna. Link is a sheep herder in the Kingdom of Hyrule. Link’s destiny is to save Hyrule and its Princess, Zelda, from the darkness of the Twilight Realm.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess makes great use of the Wii mote controller. The graphics are great, the controls are fairly simple to use, and the game shows off the Wii's functionality beautifully.
With so many life-long Zelda fans, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess does not disappoint and is definitely one of the best Wii games available.

Jamming with your friends to some of the best past and current songs in rock history means that Rock Band 2 enters the charts as a Top 10 hit in my list of best Wii games.
Super Mario Galaxy (return to list of topics)
Super Mario Galaxy is the radical Super Mario Bros adventure game for the noughties!
Help Mario rescue Princess Peach by traveling through the galaxy. Super Mario Galaxy has all the classic characters you'd expect in a Mario game.
Super Mario Galaxy is the same great formula that has made the Mario Brothers one of the best video games series for over 20 years.
Super Mario Galaxy also uses the Wii mote controller superbly. You'll have lots of opportunities to flick and twist the Wii mote during the game. Performing actions with the Wii mote like grabbing objects on the screen, riding a manta ray in the ocean, and blowing bubbles under water are done by pointing the controller at the screen and moving it in different directions.
Super Mario Galaxy is one of those games that shows off all of the Wii's great features. It has cool graphics, a classic Mario adventure story for the whole family, and is great fun to play with the Wii mote.
This game is definitely worth looking at for the kids, the family, and anyone who loves good old fashioned fun. This is definitely one of the best Wii games you'll ever play!

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (return to list of topics)
On a mission to save the President's kidnapped daughter in Eastern Europe, you are secret agent Leon Kennedy.
You'll find yourself in the backwaters of Eastern Europe fighting zombies, villagers and raving members of a crazed cult. Armed with powerful pistols, shotguns, rifles and more, you'll need to use them all to survive this village of horrors.
The Wii's controls work fantastically well in Resident Evil 4. Aim the Wii mote controller at your enemies on the screen to shoot them, and use the nunchuck controller to move around the village.
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is a horror game that definitely isn't for the faint hearted. The game has an age restriction of Mature in the US, and 15 in Europe.
If you're over the age of 15 and looking for a brilliant action game with an adrenaline rush to match, then Resident Evil 4 is undoubtedly the game for you.
Not everyone loves horror games, and some are even too scary for me, but the story line, action and suspense in this one are so good that I had put it on my list of 10 best Wii games.
